You are not here to beat the night.
You are here to found a town, hunt a living wilderness, sail a hostile sea, and take land from people who thought they owned it.
To Conquer a Wild Landscape, and to Defend it from others. No Vanilla Monsters or Daynight-Meta. Instead- you encounter a world of living animals that may challange you more than you expect. No teleport, In-Game rendered worldmap, Distant View and Sound, Naval Combat, and Much MUCH more!

About Sieged Empires
a Modded Minecraft Multiplayer Experience unlike ANY other!
The Premise
This is not a kit PvP lobby and it is not a peaceful towny server with monsters bolted on. The loop is settlement, diplomacy, travel, and conquest.
A continent with climate, seasons, thirst, collapsing caves, predatory wildlife, and a war system built so a lone settler and a packed empire both have a reason to be afraid.
There is no teleportation. Trade, war, and friendship all mean a journey — horse across climate bands, or a real ship across ocean.
Towns & Citizenship
Press J to open the Town / Empires menu. Creating a town costs 5 diamonds. You start with 18 Claim Banners (one chunk each); extra banners cost 1 diamond apiece.
Four ranks in every town:
- Monarch — owner and ruler
- Lord — can invite and grant land
- Trusted — can break and build around town
- Citizen — lives under the town's protection
Claims are not cosmetic. Non-citizens cannot casually lockpick your doors. Outsiders attacked in a claim get ~30 seconds to fight back, then the shield returns. Rank prefixes show on your name.
Empires & Diplomacy
Towns can join or found empires — power, logistics, and a flag on every mast. Join an empire and you forfeit independent diplomacy; you ride with whoever you crowned.
Before you commit to a journey you can signal intent from diplomacy screens: ally, trade, or request Open Borders so citizens move through each other's towns as one people.
War & Invasion
Declaring war is free — that is the warning, not the gift. War opens invasion on both sides.
Starting an invasion requires 3 players online in the target town or empire, and costs 8 diamonds. You receive a War Banner to place on enemy land.
- Banner has 120 health — capture-the-flag with TNT
- While it stands, invaders can place/break in that chunk and use explosives in a one-chunk radius
- During invasion, invaders can lockpick any lock in the whole town
- Survive 20 minutes and you claim that land
- 1-hour cooldown after each invasion between the same pair
Declare war on an empire and they won't know which town you're hitting until you're already there. Small nations can threaten sprawling claims — if they show up prepared.
Hunting & Wildlife
Natural monster spawning is off. Zombies, creepers, and the usual night roster don't own this world. What replaces them is Wild Behavior — wildlife as a hunting mechanic.
Prey flees, herds panic, and detection is real. Sneak, crawl, hunt from the shoulder camera, or watch the herd vanish into Terralith hills.
Land predators: wolves, polar bears, maned wolves, tigers, gorillas, grizzlies, komodo dragons, rattlesnakes, tusklins, snow leopards, anacondas.
Water predators: crocodiles, caimans, hammerhead and frilled sharks, orcas.
More Meat & Milk adds butcher cuts from fowl, gator, shark, snake, bear, and more. Meat is earned — if you want to live, learn which bush has a tiger in it.
World & Climate
The overworld is a huge Terralith + Tectonic continent — not random biome soup. Five equal climate bands across ~30,000 blocks north–south: Freezing, Cold, Temperate, Warm, Hot.
Travel north and the world freezes; travel south and it cooks. Wildlife follows climate. Most generated structures are gone — you build the civilization.
Voxy streams distant terrain. VoxelMap is shared with town claim outlines and flags. Squaremap can show claims on a web map.
Food, Thirst & Seasons
Tough as Nails: thirst, temperature (biomes, altitude, night, rain, armor), and real consequences for sprinting dry.
Serene Seasons: foliage shifts, winter snow, weather changes — 8 Minecraft days per sub-season.
Croplite: crops grow at 1/3 vanilla speed. Wrong plant in wrong climate or season can rot. Food is regional — trade is how a snow town tastes a tomato.
- Cold — berries, carrots, beets, wheat, garlic, peaches
- Temperate — potatoes, oats, beans, apples, peaches, lemons, cantaloupe
- Tropical / warm wet — tomatoes, peppers, coffee, rice, banana, cocoa, melon
- Hot desert — cactus, coffee, peppers; water is the treasure
Garlic (cold) grants Strength. Coffee (jungle/desert) grants Speed.
Collapsing Caves
Mining below roughly sea level can start a cave-in: rumble, screen shake, then stone that actually falls. Falling blocks hurt. Uncommon but real — not a guaranteed death trap.
New logins get a grace period and a cooldown after each collapse. The Gentle enchantment can stop them. Bring a plan, not just a pick.
The Sea — Ships & Storms
Don't cross the ocean in a vanilla boat (~30 HP, no healing, storms shove you). Use Shippy Ships: Sailboat, Cog, and Caravel in ten woods. Your flag goes up the mast when a town member boards.
Old Cannons mount on ships and shore — stone, metal, and incendiary shot with real reload times.
Shiftyocean adds current in rain and thunder. Boats yaw and drift; naval combat is not a flat millpond.
Locks, Theft & Security
Craft a Locksmithing Table, Lock, and Key. Set a password at the table. Locks come off with a lockpick or explosion.
Lockpicks are slow (~30s), loud, and ~5% success. Inside your town, lockpicking expects other members online. During invasion, attackers can try every lock in the town.
Peace is for citizens. War is for thieves with a banner.
Weapons & Muskets
Melee expands: javelins, knives, battleaxes, wood to netherite. Plus 17th-century guns with real reload times:
- Flintlock pistol — ~6s reload
- Musket / bayonet — ~10s
- Blunderbuss — ~10s
- Scoped musket — ~16s
- Hand mortar — ~16s
Headshots deal double damage with helmets on. Gunshot to unprotected head is lethal. Muskets carry ~380 blocks via Distantnoise as a muffled, directional whisper.
Distant Sounds
Important noises relay across the map as quiet, distance-muffled, directional sound. Close up it's clear; far away it's a clue.
- Guns & TNT — ~380 blocks
- Bear stomps & animal calls — ~48 blocks
- Running / panicking animals — ~30 blocks
- Cave echoes — walk ~30, sprint ~50, fall damage ~90
- Surface sprint — ~28 blocks
- Brush & crops — sneak/crawl drops to ~6 blocks at quarter volume
Proximity voice reaches ~60 blocks. Stealth is real — sprint through brush and you shout; crawl and you're almost quiet.
Music
Sieged Music replaces situational soundtrack with original ambient pieces while exploring, with longer gaps so the wilderness breathes.
Near an active war banner, the score shifts to war tracks — a cue the fight is close before you see the flag. Menu and jukebox music stay vanilla.

What to Expect
- Found towns, claim chunks, rank citizens, paint borders on the map
- Ally and trade by travel — never by teleport
- Declare war free; invasions cost diamonds, need players online, last 20 minutes
- Vanilla night monsters are not the threat — predators and Wild Behavior are
- Thirst, temperature, and seasons are on; crops are climate-locked and slow
- Caves collapse; vanilla boats are death traps — use Shippy ships
- Locks are real; lockpicks fail on purpose unless you're invading
- Most world structures are absent — you are the structure
- You will hear people who are close. You will not warp to them.
